OUR ADVANCED DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT

Zeiss Humphrey visual field analyzer

This perimeter is non-invasive and allows us to detect any condition that affects the nerves of the eye or the brain, like glaucoma and stroke. It is considered globally as the ‘gold standard’ perimeter.
With this, we can also perform the 120 point Esterman test’, the visual field test commonly required by the DVLA.
There is a minimal charge to perform this test. We cannot discuss your eligibility to drive; the DVLA has to make this decision upon receipt of your results.

Medmont Topographer

Medmont Topographer projects a series of illuminated rings, referred to as a Placido disc, onto the surface of the cornea, which are reflected back into the instrument.
After analyzing the reflected rings of light, the computer generates a topographical map of the cornea. It measures the shape of your eye, helps us to assess the fitting of Ortho K lenses for the development of conditions such as keratoconus as well and allows us to manage the tear film quality, enabling tailored treatment plans.

Slit lamp

The slit lamp is a high-powered microscope with an intense light source that provides a very detailed examination of the front layers of the eye.
Since many conditions result in a ‘red eye’, only by detailed examination with this equipment can an accurate diagnosis be made
